I work with a small number of automotive businesses on sourcing, compliance and supply chain problems. Two ways to engage — a scoped consulting engagement, or an ongoing partnership where I act as your supply chain presence in China.
Sourcing & Supply Chain Consulting
For distributors, importers and workshop groups who need answers to specific questions before committing money:
- Vetting a Chinese manufacturer before you place the first order
- Working out RCM and dangerous goods compliance for a product you want to import
- Comparing diagnostic platforms on technical merit, not brochure claims
- Reviewing freight, inventory and after-sales setups that are leaking margin
Typical engagements run from a single advisory call to a multi-week sourcing project with a written report and supplier shortlist.
China Supply Chain Partnership
For businesses that need continuous execution rather than advice — a long-term arrangement covering supplier management, quality control, compliant dangerous goods shipping and after-sales coordination from the China side. Scope and structure are agreed case by case; I take on few of these and only where the fit is right.
How We Work Together
- Enquiry. Send a short note about what you’re trying to solve via the contact page.
- Discovery call. A free 30-minute call to understand the problem and see whether I can genuinely help.
- Proposal. A written scope with deliverables, timeline and a fixed fee — no open-ended billing.
- Engagement. We do the work, with progress updates you don’t have to chase.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you sell diagnostic tools or equipment?
No. I’m not a reseller and I don’t take commissions from manufacturers. That independence is the point — my advice isn’t attached to anyone’s inventory.
How do you charge?
Each engagement is scoped and quoted as a fixed fee before we start. There’s no public price list because no two sourcing problems are the same size.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes. Supplier lists, costs and product plans are commercially sensitive, and I treat them that way whether or not paperwork is in place.
Which time zones do you work across?
I work across China and New Zealand hours, which overlap well with Australia and reasonably with Europe and North America. Scheduled calls are never a problem.
What if my product isn’t automotive?
The sourcing and compliance fundamentals transfer to most electronics categories. If it’s outside my depth, I’ll say so on the discovery call rather than learn on your budget.
