Effective date: 5 July 2026
Silicon Steps (siliconsteps.com) is the personal website of Winston Deng. This policy explains what data the site collects and how it is used.
What is collected
- Contact form. Name, company, email, country and your message — used only to reply to your enquiry.
- Newsletter. Your email address — used only to send the newsletter you subscribed to. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Server logs. The hosting provider (Hostinger) keeps standard access logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
What is not collected
This site runs no advertising trackers and no social media pixels. Your reading behaviour is not profiled or sold. The dark/light mode preference is stored in your own browser (localStorage) and never leaves your device.
Where data is stored
Form submissions are stored in this website’s database, hosted by Hostinger. Newsletter addresses may be processed by a dedicated email delivery service; the current provider is listed on the newsletter page. Data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
Your rights
You can ask at any time to see, correct or delete any personal data this site holds about you. Email winston@siliconsteps.com and it will be handled within 14 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
